It is well known that Berlin is the film metropolis of Germany. From German television, cinema and series productions to international box office hits like The Bourne Supremacy, Homeland and many others, Berlin is known and loved by directors worldwide. Not only well-known historical locations and buildings serve as filming locations, but increasingly also private residences. This may also be interesting for owners of one or the other unusual property, possibly renting it out as a film set. Again and again we are at Koch & Friends of locations scouts asked whether we have a property with the described requirements in our portfolio or whether we know owners who would like to make their penthouse, apartment or villa available. For us, it is important to weigh this up carefully, to sound it out and then to discuss it with the owners, since special requirements apply to film sets, especially with regard to maintaining the condition of the property.
We find it exciting and exciting at the same time to see the production teams everywhere in Berlin, even if there are sometimes traffic delays or one or the other restriction has to be accepted. So it’s all the nicer when you see Berlin as a backdrop on film and this increases the city’s popularity all over the world.
