Architectural highlight for sale

Berlin has always thrived on its many areas of tension, polarizing residents and guests alike. This created a melting pot of different cultures and lifestyles that is unique in Germany. This diversity is increasingly reflected in the architecture of the city, because architecture polarizes and creates areas of tension.
This also applies to the sculptural building in the center of Berlin in the immediate vicinity of the historic Kalkscheune building. The contrast of the architectural styles couldn’t be greater and the area of tension will also be maintained over the next few years with the new development of the Tacheles area. The organic language of forms with a wavy covering of aluminum profiles laid over the facade of the new building picks up on the theme of the landscape in the city in its sculptural design. This design concept, developed by the internationally renowned architect Jürgen H. Mayer, runs through from the façade to the stairwells and elevators to the interior of the residential units and results in a unique living and spatial experience with high design standards.
Architecture defines urban spaces – we define ourselves through architecture – individuality emerges. More individual life than in this apartment and in this location is almost impossible.

Designer apartment in JOH3

The sculptural masterpiece by the Stuttgart-born Berlin architect Jürgen H. Mayer cannot be overlooked. In exciting contrast to the listed, typical old Berlin building of the Kalkscheune, the new building surprises with its unmistakable appearance. The soft, three-dimensional, plastically designed facade skin made of countless vertical slats creates an architecture full of poetry. An artistic-architectural approach that creates the interaction between structure and sculpture in this unique urban location. Named after the location on Johannisstraße in trendy Berlin-Mitte, JOH3 is one of the first projects realized by the internationally recognized “curve star” Jürgen H. Mayer. He is internationally regarded as a visionary of contemporary, imaginative architecture and has now also been able to set an example in Berlin with JOH 3. Mayer plays with interesting lines of sight as well as inward and outward views, which are determined by the facade sculpture made of curved aluminum slats in front of the new glass building. The three-dimensionally curved lamella facade allows almost no insight, but sufficient view through amorphous recesses in the lamella curtain facade.

In this extraordinary apartment with approx. 180 m² of living space on the 5th floor, the special features of the building can be impressively experienced. Expansive spatial effects, views and a perfect south-southwest orientation dissolve the spatial limitations in favor of a seemingly limitless architecture.
